V. Jeffrey Smith and Howard Alper are Electric Powered Soul

Soulfolk's V. Jeffrey Smith and Howard Alper are officially ELECTRIC POWERED SOUL. The duo's music is informed by a rich variety of soul, rock and jazz set against multilayered electronic landscapes. Smith and Alper originally met while working on Grammy winning Living Colour vocalist Corey Glover’s solo album “Hymns.” They continued to work with each other in various capacities over the years including most recently with The Soulfolk Experience. The seeds for Electric Powered Soul were sown while both were attending a Mets game. As the game wore on and the Mets fell behind, Alper decided to play Smith some demo tracks he had been working on. Smith liked a few and suggested they collaborate on an album. Their debut album, “World on Fire”, features appearances by several of their talented contemporaries including Corey Glover (Living Colour), Sandra St. Victor (The Family Stand) and David Pilgrim (The Soulfolk Experience). Their album 'WORLD ON FIRE' will be available JUNE 7th 2018 on all streaming platforms.
