The Soulfolk Experience

THE SOULFOLK EXPERIENCE is an astoundingly talented circle of songwriters/multi-instrumentalists legendary in NY Rock, Jazz and Folk circles. Featuring the talents of Maritri Garrett, V. Jeffrey Smith and David Pilgrim, the collective boasts experience with artists such as Barbra Streisand, Paula Abdul, the Five Blind Boys of Alabama, the Indigo Girls, Daryl Hall, Me’shell N’degeocello, and Heather Headley. The Soulfolk Experience or SFX, were nominated “Best Band In Brooklyn 2011” by WNYC, New York’s preeminent public radio station. Individually they have performed on numerous American, European and Caribbean stages. They recently released their second CD compilation, The Soulfolk Experience Volume 2, an immediate success on iTunes, Amazon and after live shows. In addition to group commitments, Maritri has been a featured artist at the 2014 Naacp Image Awards and is working on a solo album due in late 2018. David recently released a solo album, entitled Longer Here Than There and Jeff is a central contributor to musical projects such as The Family Stand and his solo project, No Plan B. This activity provides creative inspiration for the members and constant buzz that further cements SFX’s reputation as great performers of great songs.
